John Frazer
Professor of Design Science in the Faculty of Science & Technology and the Faculty of Build Environment and Engineering at Queensland University of Technology John Hamilton Frazer is an international pioneer of evolutionary and generative systems in the field of architecture and urban design. He is a highly regarded thinker whose influence continues to be instrumental in developing new approaches to the way in which we design and manage the built environments of the future. Professor Frazer’s research is focused around the creation of self-organizing, self-sustaining systems that evolve with user interaction – enabled by powerful computer systems and artificial intelligence. He takes a visionary approach to creating a more sustainable design culture through the development of better collaborative design and management systems. He has significant industrial application experience in this field, an extensive and notable list of research publications and his first book An Evolutionary Architecture, 1995, is regarded as the seminal work in the field of generative design.
