Natalie Jeremijenko
Jeremijenko, directs the NYU Environmental Health Clinic, and is an Associate Professor in Visual Art with associated faculty appointments in Computer Science and Environmental Studies, working primarily in socio-ecological systems design–a realm in which structures of participation and ecosystems science combine strategies from environmental art activism and ecosystems science to improve environmental health. She was a visiting professor at Royal College of Art, London 07-09 and an artist not-in-residence at the Institute for the Future. Previously she was on the Visual Arts faculty at UCSD, and Faculty of Engineering at Yale and prior to this she was in research at Xerox PARC, the Advanced Computer Graphics Center at RMIT and the Center for Advanced Technology, NYU. Her work was included in 2006 and 1997 Whitney Biennial of American and the Cooper Hewit Smithsonian Design Triennial 2006-7, in addition to recent exhibition in Iceland to remediate the Reykjavik Tjorn, and the Amphibious Architecture installation in the East and Bronx Rivers.
