Biographical Info: I currently holds the position of a Senior Scientist in Tata Consultancy Services. During my tenure at TCS she I was introduced to the field of Systems Engineering & Cybernetics and latter its application to several consulting Assignments. Based on this I have developed offerings applicable to TCS in its consulting assignments and offerings to increase TCS competency to deliver better value to its clients. Clients worked with include banks, UN organizations, Newspaper organizations and Public & private Sector organizations. The assignments focused on Systems, Structure and Strategy related studies.I have published and presented papers at National and International Conferences. I hold a Masters Degree in Management from Mumbai University. I am currently working with the Business Systems & Cybernetics Center (BS&CC) which is one of the Innovation labs of TCS. BS&CC is a Research Laboratory for Complex Adaptive Business Systems with a focus on the needs of the Consulting and IT Services aspects of TCS’ business. The initial motivations for setting up this centre were to structure business solutions to accurately trace the linkages between requirements and their satisfaction through IT solutions. This approach is aimed so as to reduce the latency between business change and its support through IT, to increase the alignment between business operations and IT support and business strategy and IT strategy, and to foster reuse through a clean segmentation of business that will provide a compositional ontology for it. The business value of IT, an important business consideration, derives its basis from the level of alignment between the two, namely Business and Information System. These motivations still provide the tools for navigating the research currents in the centre. In this applied research, the Systems Approach and Systems Thinking is melded with Complexity Science to operationally model the internals of businesses. Engineering of Software (Information encoding Knowledge in use), Systems Engineering and Concurrent Engineering provide the Essence of the engineering flavor of the work in this centre
