Hugo Letiche

 
Hugo Letiche is Professor of ‘Meaning in Organization’ at the Universiteit voor Humanistiek, Utrecht The Netherlands. He studied at the University of Chicago (BA), Leiden University (Drs) and the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (PhD). He first taught in the Department of Labor Relations (Polytechnic ‘De Horst’), then at the University of Amsterdam (M.Ed. personnel’s work), and thereafter at the Erasmus University / RSM (Research Methodology and Organization Ethics), before he became Professor in Utrecht where he is the Director of the part-time PhD program. He has been part-time Professor in the UK at Lancaster University, Keele University and Bristol Business School, and visiting Professor at the University of California at Berkeley.

His recent writings include Making Healthcare Care (Charlotte NC: IAP, 2008) and Social Complexity Theory (forthcoming Palgrave December 2011). Recent research grants (ZONmw — Research Institute Dutch Ministry of Health) have focused on normative professionalism and organizational change. Recent book chapters have been on case study methodology (Sage), studying the elderly (Blackwells), appreciative inquiry (Keynote), and humanist organizational theory (Sage). Recent articles have been on sustainability, examined from a complexity perspective (E:CO), creativity art and managing (Society Business Review) and polyphony (OS).

Organizational change, in-practice research methods and normative professionalism are his fields of expertise.
