Following the rebirth of Manchester as a successful, vibrant hub (with a well-connected, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.manchesterairport.co.uk\" target=\"_new\">international airport<\/a>), Bolton is a town in redevelopment. It was (first) the town studied through Mass Observation, as &#8220;worktown&#8221;. It is beautifully situated near some of the finest land- and seascapes in the British Isles. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bolton.ac.uk\" target=\"new\">University of Bolton<\/a> has one of the few departments in the world explicitly named for cybernetics, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bolton.ac.uk\/IEC\/Home.aspx\" target=\"_new\">Institute for Educational Cybernetics<\/a>.
