Email: pellis27@yahoo.com

Biographical Info: My field is foreign policy, and I run a small non-profit, the Women’s Foreign Policy Group, which I co-founded and which promotes women’s leadership and voices on pressing international issues through programs with women leaders. We also promote the next generation of leaders through mentoring and internships. Previously, I was a journalist covering foreign affairs for Public Television’s MacNeil-Lehrer Newshour, and Canadian Broadcasting. I taught at American University in Washington DC, was a researcher at MIT’s Center for International Studies, and the US Mission to the UN. I was a fellow at the Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy at Harvard’s Kennedy School, received a scholarship from the Netherlands Universities’ Foundation for International Cooperation for graduate study in The Hague, and participated in the European Community Visitor’s Program. I was also a founding member of the International Women’s Media Foundation.

The organization I run is global in its concerns, outlook, and speakers, and fosters cross-fertilization across sectors in the international affairs field. I am new to cybernetics, but am interested and curious to learn more after attending GW University Seminars on Reflexive Systems.
