The Conference Grounds
Celebrated as Monterey Peninsula’s “Refuge by the Sea” – Asilomar State Beach and Conference Grounds is located on a breathtakingly gorgeous 107 acres of ecologically diverse beachfront land. Situated within the quaint and scenic town of Pacific Grove, Asilomar offers guests the simple comforts of cozy cottages and rustic lodges as well as convivial meeting spaces.
The Asliomar Conference Grounds buildings were designed as a conference centre for the YWCA by the distinguished Californian architect Julia Morgan between 1913 and 1928, who was a member of the Arts and Crafts movement that was started in the UK by William Morris and others. The buildings are listed on the National Register.
