Biographical Info: I have spent half my life in the USA and half in the UK. I live in Virginia in the USA. I was born and grew up In London, England. I found systems ideas on T241 Systems Behaviour course from the Open University in 1978 and then followed up with some graduate work at Saybrook with Bela Banathy. Bill Reckmeyer introduced me to cybernetics when he consulted with us at Coors in 1983, we used cybernetics ideas there in group dynamics and problem solving, in computer systems design and application, and in communication strategies with the public. I have served in the British military (an Army Officer in the Corps of Royal Engineers), I have worked in the UK and USA government (National Health Service in the UK and human resources management in the USA), business and utilities (Coors Brewing in Denver, Mountain Bell and Arizona Public Service) academia (faculty or guest faculty at Arizona State University Center for Ethics, George Mason University distance education, and the US Army War College creativity in senior leadership).
In 1991 Tina Bishop and I started the College of Exploration http://www.coexploration.org Over the past 23 years we have developed online education programs connecting cutting edge science in earth, ocean, and space science with educators around the world.
Tina and I are married, have 6 adult children, 3 each from our previous marriages, and now are blessed with 9 grandchildren.
