Biographical Info: I am Professor of Psychology at the University of Bolton. For 32 years I worked in the British National Health Service, where I was a clinical psychologist. I retired from the Health Service in 2011. In 2012, I took up my current position. One of the pleasures of the current job is that I have been able to work with several colleagues from the University’s Institute of Educational Cybernetics. I hope to build on these collaborations in the future. I have a range of research interests, including recovery from mental health problems, happiness wellbeing and positive psychology and occupational stress. While for many years I worked at the Institute of Psychiatry/Maudsley in London as a clinical academic, now I am working as a full-time academic. I am looking forward to the challenges of the next decade in academia.
