Biographical Info: Tirumala is currently a Scientist at Business Systems & Cybernetics Centre, Innovation Lab, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS). His research interests include systemic risk management for Projects, Programs and enterprises. As well as IT business practitioner, Tirumala has previously held IT architect and consultant positions at Alcatel USA and Buxton Consulting in USA and Marine and Communication Electronics (India) Ltd, PlanetOnline Ltd, Tata Infotech in India, providing innovative solutions to their clients business problems spanning across various areas like Software development, ICT support, Professional Consulting, Training, Architectural Solution Consulting and Innovation.
In Tirumala’s career he has always been a learner ‘through doing’, but after joining Business Systems &Cybernetics Centre, TCS, seven years ago, he had undergone a paradigmatic shift in learning by way of ‘doing by thinking’, using systems thinking that had helped him see the world using systems lens.
Tirumala presented various papers in IEEE international and national conferences in the area of risks using systems and cybernetics approaches. Tirumala’s recently published article was Titled “System of Systems Understanding of Modern Corporations”.
Tirumala received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics & Communications from Andhra University in 1987. He has always been in constant pursuit of excellence in whatever that comes his way by following the end-to-end principle and creative. Tirumala is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and also a gold member of Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) USA. Tirumala is also a member of IEEE, USA. Tirumala’s other research interests include deeper study of how man made design’s variety fit into the nature’s design using systems and cybernetics concepts.
