Biographical Info: I studied architecture and then moved to a PhD in cybernetics with Gordon Pask followed by a PhD in human learning with Laurie Thomas. I was awarded a DSc in cybernetics and design in 2006.
I have spent my life teaching, mainly in the area of design, recently as a form of consultancy, visiting many universities as an “outside insider” on a freelance basis. I have regular posts at the Royal College of Art, London, UK (Innovation Design Engineering) and the Luca faculty of arts and design in the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium.
I have a research practice and have published more than 350 works. I also have an art, design and music practice. I work through my own company, CybernEthics Research.
For the past 5 years I have been president of the ASC. I am on the editorial board of 10 journals, in several fields. I live on the south coast of the UK with my wife and muse, Aartje Hulstein.
