Biographical Info: I have been an improvising musician for over thirty five years. I also have a degree in experimental psychology from Sussex, and undertook some years of study at Bristol, towards a PhD. looking at the cognitive bases of musical improvisation.
Since 1982 I have worked as a violinist in many musical contexts, mainly in jazz, with a special interest in free improvisation. From 1988-93 I worked with the rock group “Gong”. I have also appeared on many CDs
I have produced two albums of free improvisation under my own name.
I have also taught violin privately and at Salford University, as well as giving lessons in theory and approaches to improvisation.
